Rancho Del Rey is located on the Eastern side of Chula Vista. The neighborhood is decorated with tree-lined streets and canyon views with plenty of green space.

Rancho Del Rey is served by the Chula Vista Elementary School District and the Sweetwater High School District. There are four Elementary Schools, two Middle Schools and two High Schools in the neighborhood. The Elementary schools are Clear View, Chula Vista Hills, Casillas, Discovery and Halecrest.  The two middle schools are Rancho Del Rey and Bonita Vista Middle School. For High School it can either be Otay Ranch or Bonita Vista for High School.

Rancho Del Rey offers home buyers a great variety of options from single family, townhomes and condominiums. These homes can measure from 940 square feet for a condo, and upwards to 8,000 square feet for some of the custom homes. Prices range from the mid $400,000s up to $2M+ as of Jan 2022.

Homes in this neighborhood were built between the early 1970’s to early 2000’s. The newer homes are located inside the gated community of the Rancho Del Rey Estates.

Aside from the HOA fees for each condominium or townhome complex, there are no master community HOA fees in the single-family communities within Rancho Del Rey. Since there are no community HOA fees, there are no amenities dedicated strictly for residents. However, there is a pool at the South bay Family YMCA facility located within the neighborhood. There’s also plenty of public parks for the residents to use. These parks are equipped with playgrounds, grills, gazebos, basketball courts, tennis courts and softball/baseball fields. This is a great advantage for people that are looking for a neighborhood where they can avoid paying for an HOA (Home Owner Association) fee but still have access to facilities they can use at no charge or for a small fee if they want to host private events.
